Remove plain, edge-matching backgrounds and preserve transparency.
This tool is designed for logos, product cutouts, icons, and other images placed on a simple solid background. It compares pixels with colors found at the edges and turns close matches transparent.
Use the strength slider to control how much color is removed. This is not AI subject detection, so complex scenes, hair, shadows, or multicolor backgrounds may require a dedicated editor.
- Transparent PNG output is selected automatically
- Removal strength remains adjustable before conversion
- Existing transparent pixels are preserved
Before you export
Does it work on every background?
No. It works best when the background is mostly one color and touches the image edges. Complex photographic backgrounds are outside this tool’s scope.
Why did part of my subject become transparent?
Its color was probably close to the sampled edge background. Lower the removal-strength slider and convert again.
Which formats keep transparency?
PNG, WebP, and AVIF can store alpha transparency. JPEG and BMP use a solid background instead.
